Contest Rules

These contest rules are specific to the above contest conducted by Entercom Norfolk, LLC d/b/a WNVZ-FM Z104 FM (collectively, the “Station”).  Except to the extent specifically set forth below with respect to this specific contest, the Station’s general contest rules apply to this contest as well.  A copy of these specific contest rules and the Station’s general contest rules are available at the Station’s studio at 236 Clearfield Avenue, Suite 206, Virginia Beach, VA 23462 during regular business hours and on the contest page on the Station’s website at www.Z104.com.  To the extent that the general contest rules differ from these rules, these rules will govern and control with respect to this Contest.

How to Enter

  1. All Entrants must be 18 years or older to play in this contest.
     
  2. No purchase necessary to enter or to win the WNVZ Z104 Scavenger Hunt at Z104’s Summer Shaggfest at Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater located at 3550 Cellar Door Way, Virginia Beach, VA 23456. (the “Contest”).
     
  3. THIS CONTEST REQUIRES PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.  BY ENTERING, ENTRANTS ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY ARE PHYSICALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS CONTEST.
     
  4. On July 1, 2017 at on or around 6:40pm EST to 6:45pm EST, WNVZ Z104 staff will announce from the Z104’s Summer Shaggfest stage and outside the Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater gate we are having a WNVZ Z104 Scavenger Hunt to find Z Morning Zoo’s Nick Taylor who will be hiding in the venue. To enter, entrants will be required to be the first person to locate Nick Taylor and state the secret keyword “Sausage” to him to be declared the winner.
     
  5. The secret “keyword” will be announced both on stage and at the entrance of the venue from 6:40pm EST to 6:45pm EST.
     
  6. Entrant must be a legal Virginia resident and must present a valid government ID (each a “Participant” or “Entrant,” collectively the “Participants” or “Entrants”).
    1. Participation in this Contest must be on foot in Station’s discretion. 
      1. Human and low-power devices (e.g., wheelchairs and scooters) may be accepted for participation in Station’s discretion. 
      2. The Station’s approval of one type of device does not mean that they will approve another or similar type of device.
    2. Entrants acknowledge that messages are distributed via one (1) stage announcement and via staff outside the venue ticket gate and, therefore, Station cannot control certain factors relating to message deliverance being received. 
    3. Entrants acknowledge that no mobile, web or social announces will be made for entry into this contest.


How to Win

  1. Starting at approximately 6:45pm (ET) on July 1, 2017, all Participants, and thereafter all participants located in the venue or directly outside the entrance doors will receive announcement and a clue that will lead them to a “location” inside the Veterans United Home Loan Amphitheater (“Location Clue”) where Participants will find a Z104 Staff member, Z104 sign and Nick Taylor.  Participant(s) must state the “keyword” correctly in order to be declared a verified winner in this contest.  There will only be one (1) location in which is this contest will be played.
     
  2. The WNVZ Z104 Scavenger Hunt will take place inside the Veterans United Home Amphitheater only.  No trespassing and/or destruction of private or public property are necessary to participate and win in the Contest.  No risk-taking is required to locate the answers to clues.  Station is not responsible in any way for the acts of participants.  Participants must comply with all federal, state and local laws and regulations.  ANY PARTICIPANT WHO STATION DETERMINES HAS OR MAY HAVE BROKEN ANY FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAW AS PART OF PARTICIPATING IN THIS CONTEST WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFIED.  Participants must not harm or endanger themselves or other persons or property.  Any participant that the Station determines may have created a public hazard, caused interference with or destruction of property and/or utilized public safety resources will be disqualified in the Station’s sole discretion.  Any person using violence, intimidation or other inappropriate action in an attempt to win the Contest (as determined by Station personnel in their sole discretion) will be immediately barred from further participation in the Contest.
     
  3. In no event will any “deal-making” in connection with a contest between participants or third parties be permitted.  Station reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant who has cheated, or any other suspected fraudulent activity.  The Station reserves the right to disqualify any participant for any conduct that in any way appears to inhibit the enjoyment of other participants. 
     
  4. The Station is not responsible in the event a Participant did not hear the announcement or key word. 
     
  5. The Station is not responsible in the event a Participant cannot locate the station tent.
     
  6. THE STATION HAS NO CONTROL OVER NON-PARTICIPANTS IN THIS CONTEST AND ANTICIPATES THAT THERE WILL BE A PUBLIC AUDIENCE IN ATTENDANCE DURING THE Z104 HUNT.  All participants in this Contest understand and agree that Station has no obligation, liability or responsibility whatsoever if Participants receive help from other Participants or Non-Participants.  
     
  7. Station is not responsible if a Participant over hears another Participant’s answer or Location Clue that the Participant has not received yet.    
     
  8. Participants will only receive one (1) opportunity to attempt to correctly answer a question.  Station, on a case by case basis, will determine whether or not an answer submitted is “close enough.”  This decision is neither appealable nor negotiable and any decision in for one Participant that a guess is “close enough” or “not close enough” may NOT be used by another Participant to argue that such decision is a waiver of any kind with respect to any subsequent answer in the Contest.  
     
  9. WNVZ Z104 Scavenger Hunt will conclude at approximately 7:30 PM (ET) on July 1, 2017.  At that time, no further Location Clues will be given.
     
  10. Odds of winning depend upon the total number of eligible entries received, but shall in no event be greater than 1:5000.

Prizes

17. 

  1. Up to one (1) verified Prize Winner in this Contest will receive $104 as a check from Entercom Norfolk the following week. Up to a total of $104 US Dollars will be awarded in this contest via check that will be issued at the station studios located at 236 Clearfield Avenue, Suite 206, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.    
    1. Prizes will be released to winner only.  Winner may be required to present a valid United States state or federal photo ID and valid social security number in order to pick up any prize.  Winner may be required, in Station’s sole discretion, to sign one or more liability release agreements relieving the Station, its parents, subsidiaries, officers, directors, members, managers, employees, agents, contest sponsors and others from any and all liability with respect to the contestant’s participation in the contest and the receipt and/or use of the prize.  Any person who refuses to sign the Release and/or provide a social security number or complete or provide any other documents required by the Station by the deadline required by Station will forfeit any and all prizes.
    2. Station reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value for all contests and giveaways.  Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash.  No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed, except as may be determined by Station in its sole and absolute discretion on a case by case basis.
