DMX has been selected to be George Zimmerman's opponent in his upcoming celebrity boxing match. DMX was chosen from 15,000 applicants. George is 30, DMX is 45. The match will be three rounds and the date, time and location will be announced at a news conference next Wednesday.
We told you yesterday that the Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't have their instruments plugged in during the Super Bowl halftime show, but now Flea admits that the NFL wouldn't let them play their instruments live, but Anthony Kiedis' vocals were legit. He says, "I understand the NFL's stance on this, given they only have a few minutes to set up the stage. There are a zillion things that could go wrong and the NFL does not want to risk their show being botched by bad sound, period." But after a lot of consideration, they decided to go ahead with it and recorded the music earlier that day, specifically for the Super Bowl.
The producers of "Dancing With the Stars" has fired its orchestra and musicians - all 28 of them. ABC says that live music will still be an important part of the show and that an announcement will be coming soon regarding a new band leader. We think they may be able to gain licensing for the actual tracks of the songs they want to dance to but one source speculates that the band will be replaced with sound recordings and a "small electric band" to attract a younger demographic. Season 18 kicks off March 17th.
Paul Walker left his entire $25 million estate to his 15-year-old daughter Meadow. She'd been living with Paul since 2011, but went back with her mother Rebecca Soteros after Paul died. But Paul's will states that he wants his own mother to be Meadow's guardian, and he wants his father to control the estate. It's not clear if Rebecca is cool with this.
