How many people does it take to create the "World's Smartest Light Bulb"? It takes Two! Apple and Philips have teamed up to create the, "Hue". What makes this creation so special is that you can control not only the brightness, but also the color from your iPhone or iPad! The light bulbs will hit the market for $59.00, and will be exclusively sold through the apple store. To utilize the "Hue" system you will have to purchase the starter kit for $199.00. This will include a wireless control center and three light bulbs. Philips brags that their product is energy-efficient and will last 15 years. They also boast that their creation will only consume one-fifth the energy of regular bulbs. Sounds like something that could potentially pay for themselves.. so our question to you is...
I would have to have money to blow to spend on this. Can't think of any friends or family that would be willing to spend that amount of money at this time for a light bulb. Plus, it's brand new. I want some proof that it lasts 15 years beforeI even think about it.
