E on the Z

Monday January 27

Daft Punk were the big winners at last night's "Grammys", taking home five trophies including Album of the Year. Of course they didn't make any acceptance speeches because they're robots and they were wearing those silly helmets all night. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis got four and yes, they spoiled both of Kanye West's chances to win a Grammy this year. Jay Z, who had the most nominations with nine, only came away with one Grammy. Everyone was talking about Pharrell's hat, so much so, it got it's own Twitter account with nearly 14,000 followers by the end of the night! Macklemore & Ryan Lewis did "Same Love" and it was pretty cool because 33 couples got married during it, and some were of the same sex. Queen Latifah officiated the whole thing and then Madonna sang "Open Your Heart" but now these 60-some odd people can say that Jay Z and Beyonce were at their wedding. During pretty much every performance, Taylor Swift was seen dancing, but mostly doing a lot of headbanging. And finally, the line of the night had to go to Jay-Z when accepting his award, "And I wanna tell Blue, 'Look, Daddy got a gold sippy cup for you.'" All the winners are listed at the bottom of this blog.

Justin Bieber flew to Panama with Usher over the weekend, where, according to the many sources, his family and friends staged some sort of "intervention." There's no evidence that it was any more than a vacation, but it is interesting that so many people close to Justin did supposedly gather there.

Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici from "The Bachelor" married live on TV last night. They made history by saying "I do" in the franchise's first-ever live TV wedding. She had 13 bridesmaids and his father officiated the ceremony. They claimed they were saving each other for the wedding night. See pictures and read more about the wedding HERE.
