This morning, it's an Academy Award flavored Special Edition of E on the Z!!
The night's big winner was "Gravity", which took home seven Oscars. They were mostly technical awards, like editing, visual effects and sound mixing. But Alfonso Cuaron also got Best Director. "Dallas Buyers Club" won three Oscars, including Best Actor for Matthew McConaughey and Best Supporting Actor for Jared Leto. Cate Blanchett won Best Actress for the Woody Allen film "Blue Jasmine" while Lupita Nyong'o won Best Supporting Actress for her work on "12 Years a Slave." "Frozen" won Best Animated Film. The complete list is at the bottom.
But enough about the awards, let's talk about the dresses! Lupita Nyong'o looked like a goddess in baby blue. She helped design it and said it represented her homeland where she always felt surrounded in blue in Kenya. Kate Hudson looked like an angel, her skin looked airbrushed to perfection and I'm fine with that. And then there was Kerry Washington. I don't know if she was glowing because she's expecting or if she's just that damn beautiful! That custom-made lavender dress would have fit like a potato sack on anyone else. Not her. She was gorgeous with the pretty lips and the nails and her hair! Aaaah!! SEE THE RED CARPET PICS HERE! AND HERE!
Now, instead of talking about the Worst Dressed (since there weren't any!) let me run thru some of my favorite best looking couples including Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, Viola Davis and her husband Julius and Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan.
MOST TALKED ABOUT OSCAR MOMENTS:
-Pharrell's brand new hat made an appearance on stage. During his "Happy" performance, Pharrell was able to get Lupita Nyong'o, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams out of their seats to dance along. WATCH THAT HERE!
-If the Oscars handed out awards for photobombing, Benedict Cumberbatch would win a trophy - he dove into a shot of U2 that was hilarious. See the PICTURE HERE!
-John Travolta introduced Idina Menzel to sing "Let It Go" from "Frozen" but either didn't practice her name or just plain screwed up, calling her Adelle Dazeem. Don't believe me? Adelle Dazeem has her own Twitter and you can WATCH JOHN'S MESS UP HERE!
-And finally, Ellen DeGeneres, who did an excellent job hosting, took a selfie that quickly became the most re-Tweeted post on Twitter, shutting it down for about 20 minutes. It included Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Julia Roberts, Jared Leto, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong'o (and her brother), Channing Tatum, Kevin Spacey and Jennifer Lawrence. See that PICTURE HERE! Ellen also served the audience pizza that she had ordered during the opening monologue. Awesome!
