Earlier this month, Drake got his high school diploma after dropping out when he was younger to play a high school kid on a Canadian TV show "DeGrassi: The Next Generation." A video has surfaced of him giving a speech at the graduation and it's actually very sincere.
We may have to wait until Taylor Swift is old and gray before hearing who her songs are about. She is still refusing to give out clues. On Friday she went on "All Access Nashville with Katie Couric". She said, "For me the one thing that I keep really close is the identity of who these songs are about. For me, I think my personal stories sound better in a song than in an interview in quotes." By the way, Taylor announced that she'll launch a 58-date North American tour early next year. She’s coming to DC on May 11 & 12 and Charlottesville on September 14, but nothing here in Hampton Roads. British singer Ed Sheeran will be the opener.
Celebrities were out in their Halloween costumes this weekend. Kim Kardashian ended up dressing as a mermaid, Emma Roberts dressed up as her aunt Julia Roberts from "Pretty Woman,"Puff Diddly Pooh dressed as Prince. But in a very strange decision, Deryck Whibley from Sum 41 dressed as Avril Lavigne. That's his ex-wife. And Deryck's new girlfriend, Ari Cooper, dressed as Chad Kroeger from Nickelback who's Avril's new fiancé. I'm confused to say the least!
Natina Reed from the group Blaque died on Friday, after being hit by a car as she walked on a highway in Georgia. She was 32. The local police say the driver was not at fault. It's unclear why Natina was out walking on the road. The other two members of the group, Shamari Fears Devoe and Brandi Williams, said they'd recently reunited to work on an album and a reality show. Blaque had a few hits in 1999 "Bring It All to Me" and "808". Natina also played Jenelope in the movie "Bring It On".
