Here are Four Random Results From the Election:
1. Both of the Senate candidates who made controversial comments about rape LOST their races. Republican Richard Mourdock lost in Indiana to Democrat Joe Donnelly, and Republican Todd Akin lost in Missouri to Democrat Claire McCaskill. Democrats ended the night retaining control of the Senate, and Republicans ended the night retaining control of the House of Representatives. There are now 19 women in the U.S.. Senate, which is an ALL-TIME-HIGH!
2. Two states, Colorado and Washington, became the first states to legalize marijuana for ALL USES. A similar measure in Oregon FAILED.
3. Two states, Maryland and Maine, approved same-sex marriage proposals.
4. Last but not least, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin has become the first openly gay U.S.. Senator.
