For Jonathan Palmer, photographing the funeral of a fallen police officer was just another day at the office.
That is, until the touching image he captured, of K-9 dog Figo mourning his slain master, went viral, prompting thousands of responses and calls from national media outlets.
Bardston, KY officer Jason Ellis, 33-year old, was shot and killed on Saturday, May 25 after stopping his car to address debris in the road. "In the newspaper business, you cover the best part of life and worst part of life," Palmer, a 34-year-old freelance photojournalist, told "Today" of his assignment to attend Ellis's funeral.
Neither Palmer, a Lexington, Kentucky native, nor the Lexington Herald Newspaper's photo editor, who sent him to cover the funeral, knew the image of the dog putting his paw on the casket would go viral. It was only when the photo was posted to Reddit that it flew across the Internet, and inspired the newspaper to run the photo in its pages.
There's new Russian dashcam footage on YouTube of a car slamming into a bear. But it looks like the car probably got the worst of it, because the bear jumps right back up and runs off. Incredible!! The bear shows up at :08
Country music singer Brad Paisley forgot the words to his song "Welcome to the Future" while performing at the opening ceremonies of Nashville's new convention center on Monday. He drew a blank, spit out a few lines, made excuses and then finished by saying he couldn't wait to see it again when it goes viral.
I am counting down the days to December 20th and I bet you are too!! Don't act like you don't know what's happening that day. Come on!! It's the day we get to hang out with Ron Burgundy, Brian Fantana, Champ Kind, Brick Tamland and the lovely Veronica Corningstone. Yes, we'll be in the theaters together when "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues" hits theaters.
I love this!! Even if you don't watch the show "Downton Abbey" on PBS, you'll still find this hilarious!! This is why we heard the other day that Puff Diddly Pooh was going to be a new cast memeber on "Downton Abbey." Love it. WARNING: language is NOT CENSORED. This is too funny!! "Yo, I KNEW you could walk!!" Haaaaaaaa!!!
This makes me wish I would stay up late to watch these kinds of things. Jay Leno does a thing on his talk show called "Pumpcast News" and these two people are hilarious!! Would you have the guts to sing like Will and Monifa did for a free tank of gas??
