CANCELLATIONS AND DELAYS FOR FRI JAN 24

Schools in Virginia
Accomack County Public Schools will be closed. Twelve-month employees report on two-hour delay.
Chesapeake Public Schools will resume normal hours. Friday and Monday will be early release days. High school students will follow Wednesday's exam schedule on Friday and Thursday's exam schedule on Monday. Tuesday will now be a teacher workday and second semester will begin for all students on Wednesday.
Franklin City Public Schools will have a two-hour delay.
Hampton City Schools will have a teacher workday, students do not report.
Isle of Wight County Schools will be closed. Employees are to report on a two-hour delay and the day will serve as a work day for instructional staff. For more information, visit the schools' website.
Nansemond-Suffolk Academy will be closed and all after school activities and sporting events are canceled or postponed. One exception is the Art Show and Sale Sponsors' Reception which will begin at 6:30 p.m.
Newport News Public Schools will resume normal operations, but is having a teacher workday. Students do not report for classes.
Norfolk Public Schools will resume classes at the normal time and then be out of school Monday for a teacher workday and Tuesday for a staff development day.
Northampton County Public Schools will be closed.Twelve-month employees will report on a two-hour delay.
Portsmouth Public Schools will open on a two-hour delay. Tuesday, which was scheduled to be a teacher workday, will now be a makeup day for students.
Suffolk Public Schools will be closed.
Virginia Beach City Public Schools will have a two-hour delay, but 12-month employees should report to schools and offices at their regular time.
Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools will have a teacher workday. Students do not report for classes.
York County School Division: Friday will remain a student-teacher holiday and Monday will still be a student holiday. High school exams scheduled for this week will take place next week on Tuesday and Wednesday, with all schools on an early-dismissal schedule.
Schools in North Carolina
Bertie County Schools will open on a one-hour delay.
Camden County Schools will be closed and it is an optional workday for staff. Students will make up the first snow day on Saturday, but will be released at 1 p.m.
Currituck County Schools will be closed Friday to students, but it will be an optional workday for staff who should report on a two-hour delay. The make-up day will be June 12. For J.P. Knapp, the make-up day will be May 27.
Dare County Schools will open on a two-hour delay.
Edenton-Chowan Schools will be closed and is an optional teacher workday for 10-month employees. Twelve-month employees should operated on a one-hour delay.
Elizabeth City-Pasquotank Public Schools will be closed. It will be an optional teacher workday. Staff may report to work, take appropriate leave or make alternative arrangements with their immediate supervisor.
Hertford County Public Schools will have a two-hour delay.
Perquimans County Schools will be closed Friday. It will be an optional teacher workday and teachers are asked to report at 10 a.m. if it is safe to travel.
Gates County Public Schools will be closed.
Tyrrell County Public Schools will be closed and it will be a teacher workday with a two-hour delay for all staff.
