I will share my fun-filled adventure to New York in my next blog but first I want to focus on something FAR more important. I mean like, 10 million times more important.
The images are heart wrenching. I couldn't help but cry when I was watching the news this morning (and no, it had nothing to do with pregnancy hormones!) We're talking total devastation. Needless to say, it has left a mark on my heart. I am truly heart broken for the people there...for the family members who are still looking for loved ones...for the people who have no idea how they're going to rebuild their lives. It's horrifying. Anyway, if you're like me & feel compelled to help, but you're not sure how...here are some ways:
The Red Cross has already launched efforts in Japan. Visit Redcross.org or text REDCROSS to 90999 to donate $10 from your phone.
Save the Children has also responded. Eiichi Sadamatsu of the organization released a statement, The organization is currently organizing efforts and donations to their Children's Emergency Fund will support their outreach.
The Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund was launched at GlobalGiving.org to garner funds for relief organizations.
Or you can purchase these:
Lady Gaga designed a "We Pray For Japan" prayer bracelet, buy yours now for $5 in the web store and all proceeds go to Japan tsunami relief. You can also choose to add an additional donation with your purchase. Click HERE to buy your bracelet now!
Anyway, sorry for my somber blog...but like I mentioned earlier- this really struck a chord with me & I felt compelled to share ways how we can help! Every little bit that you can contribute will help these people in desperate need. God bless!
